When Did You Stop Listening to Yourself?

And What It's Costing Your Body, Your Mind, and Your Life...

The underlying issue I most see in my clinic.

Someone sits across from me, sometimes it's their first session, sometimes we've been working together for a while, and in a quiet moment, almost like they're surprised by their own words, they say:

"I just feel like there has to be more than this."

And what strikes me every single time is not the words themselves. It's the look on their face when they say it. A mix of exhaustion and relief. Like they've been carrying that thought for a very long time and finally, finally allowed it to exist out loud.

If that sentence landed somewhere in your chest just now, keep reading. This is for you...

The Map We Were Given

Most of us grew up following a map we never actually chose.

From the moment we arrived in the world, we began receiving directions. From our parents. From teachers. From school systems and social expectations. From church, culture, community, even from well-meaning friends who thought they knew what was

Church
Church

best for us. And because we were children, and because we trusted the adults around us, we followed.

We followed the direction that said this is what a good life looks like. We followed the advice about what to study, what career to pursue, what kind of person to become. We learned to read the room, to shrink when necessary, to be agreeable, to fit. And we got very, very good at it.

The problem? We were so busy following everyone else's map, we never got to draw our own.

Twenty Years of Living Somebody Else's Life

Here's what I see in my clinic, and I want to say this gently but clearly:

When you spend twenty or thirty years living in a way that isn't aligned to who you actually are — it doesn't just affect your mind. It affects your body.
The body keeps the score. Always...

Chronic tension that lives in your neck and shoulders. The tight chest that you've learned to breathe around. The exhaustion that doesn't lift no matter how much sleep you get. The low-grade anxiety that has become so familiar you've started calling it just how you are. The niggles, the aches, the patterns of pain that seem to have no clear explanation and yet, they persist.

This is not weakness. This is your body doing exactly what bodies do, communicating the truth that your mind has learned to suppress.

Stress that is held long enough, quietly enough, becomes something the body has to carry. And over time, that weight creates dis-ease. Not always dramatic. Often subtle. But always real.

The Morning You Wake Up and Wonder

And then one day, nothing particularly special about it, you wake up and you think:

Surely there is more to my life than this...

And almost immediately, the second thought arrives: But what does "more" even look like?

This is the part that stops most people in their tracks. Because they know, with absolute clarity, what they don't want. They've been living what they don't want for years. But what they actually do want? That's where it gets foggy. Scary, even. Because nobody ever asked them. And they never really asked themselves.

Here's what I want you to know: that foggy feeling is not a flaw. It is the entirely predictable result of spending years outsourcing your inner compass to everyone around you. Of course you don't know what you want, you were never given the space or the tools to find out.

Why Your Brain Keeps Giving You More of the Same

This is the part where I want to get a little nerdy with you, because understanding this changed everything for me, and I've watched it change things for the people I work with too.

Your brain, by design, is a pattern-recognition machine. It is wired to look for familiarity, to repeat what it knows, to protect you by keeping you in known territory. This is called the negativity bias, and it is not a bug, it is a feature. It kept our ancestors alive.

But here's the catch: when the familiar is pain, or limitation, or a life that doesn't fit, your brain will keep recreating it. Not because you're broken. Not because you're stuck. But because without a new map, the brain defaults to the old one.

Real change requires two things that most people are never taught:

Awareness of where you are right now. Not a glossed-over version. The honest, sometimes uncomfortable, real picture of what is actually happening in your life and your body.

A clear vision of where you are going. Not vague. Not "I want to feel better." Specific. Felt. Embodied. A direction your nervous system can actually orient toward.

Without both of these things, change is exhausting, because you're asking your brain to navigate without a destination. And a brain without a destination will always find its way back to what it already knows.

This is also why it takes daily practice. Conscious choice. Presence. Because the old patterns are well-worn grooves, and the new ones need to be tended to with intention and nurturing, especially in the beginning.

Why I Created Come Home

I've spent years in my clinic working with people at every layer, physical, emotional, mental, energetic. I'm a Kinesiologist. I'm completing my Masters in Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy and NLP. I work with Human Design, somatic tools, and a vibration-based reset technique called SonaWaves. I have collected these modalities not for the sake of collecting them, but because I kept meeting people who needed more than one tool could offer.

The body needs to be addressed. The subconscious needs to be addressed. The conscious mind needs to be addressed. The energy body needs to be addressed. Real, lasting transformation happens when all of these layers are held together, not in isolation.

Come Home was born from that understanding...

It is a coaching program designed for the person who is done performing okayness. Who knows, somewhere beneath all the layers, that there is a version of themselves they have never fully met, or perhaps have met and slowly, quietly lost. Who is ready to stop living by everyone else's map and finally start drawing their own.

In Come Home, we use:

  • Life Coaching — to help you identify what you actually want and build a vision your whole self can believe in

  • Hypnotherapy — to access and gently rewire the subconscious patterns that keep you recreating the same results

  • NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) — to shift the language and mental frameworks you use to see yourself and your world

  • Kinesiology — to listen to what your body is carrying and support its release at a cellular level

  • SonaWaves Reset — a powerful energetic tool that works at a frequency level to support deep reset and recalibration

Because you are not just a mind. You are not just a body. You are not just an energy field.

You are all of it, and you deserve support that honours all of it.

What Coming Home Actually Feels Like

I want to be honest with you, this is not a quick fix. It is not a program that hands you a set of tips and sends you on your way. It is a journey. A real one.

But on the other side of that journey? People describe it the same way, over and over again.

They describe waking up and not immediately reaching for the mask. They describe making decisions from a place of this is what I actually want rather than this is what I'm supposed to want. They describe a quietness in the body that they hadn't realised was missing. They describe, and this is the one that always gets me, feeling like themselves again. Not a new self. Not a fixed self. Themselves.

That is what coming home means. Not arriving somewhere new. Returning to something true.

You Have All the Answers Already

This is something I believe with every part of me, and I want to leave you with it:

You are not broken. You do not need to be fixed. You are not behind, or too damaged, or too far gone. The answers you are looking for are not outside of you, they have been waiting inside of you all along. They are just buried under years of other people's voices, expectations, and maps.

My job is not to give you the answers. My job is to walk alongside you while you uncover your own.
